How to apply for a licence to farm or breed animals
You need to apply for a licence if you intend to farm or breed of non-food producing animals for commercial purposes.
Before commitment to lease or purchase any newly identified premises, you need to seek necessary clearance from relevant agencies.
Application procedures
Submit your supporting documents
Submit the following supporting documents via this online form:
Layout Plan
Copy of the Tenancy Agreement for the proposed licensed premise
Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority [ACRA] latest business profile
Approval from relevant agencies for use of premises
Copy of the NRIC [front and back] of the Applicant
Medisave Payable Statement of the Applicant*
Certificate of Completion for the Pet Welfare and Animal Management course
Animal Husbandry and Management Plan, and Business Plan
Your licence application will be approved within three working days after completion of the following:
Our receipt of all supporting documents mentioned above
Your premises successfully passes the inspection
Your payment of the licence fee
Fees and payment
The licence costs S$100, and is valid for a year. GIRO applications take a month to process. You may also make payment using PayNow or online payments.
Renewal of licence
The licence renewal notice, together with the tax invoice you will need to make payment, will be sent to you four weeks before the licence expires.
Your licence will be renewed only if payment is made before your licence expires.
*Self-employed persons are required to contribute to their CPF MediSave Account, to ensure they have sufficient savings for their healthcare needs. Your licence application/renewal may be delayed unless you are up-to-date with your MediSave contributions – either paid in full or have an active GIRO arrangement with CPF Board.
