How to apply for an animal exhibition licence
You can apply for the animal exhibition licence online through GoBusiness Dashboard. Application for temporary animal exhibition licences must be submitted at least 2 weeks before the start date of the exhibition.
Below are the steps you can follow to obtain the licence for animal exhibitions.
1. Submit documents from relevant authorities.
The following documents must be submitted to us:
Approval letter from landlord/management of exhibition venue.
(For permanent exhibitions only) Written approval from the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) or Housing Development Board (HDB).

2. Provide exhibition plan and information.
The exhibition plan must include the following:
Names and particulars of all exhibitors.
Layout plan of the exhibition venue indicating animal display and holding areas.
Design and construction plans of the animal enclosures, cages, or tanks.
A plan detailing the management and care of the animals, and the number of personnel, involved.
Programme of exhibition activities such as talks, demonstrations, animal performances, competitions, and games.
Import licence and CITES permit from the Animal, Meat & Seafood Regulatory Branch or Wildlife Regulatory Branch (where applicable).
3. Undergo AVS inspection.
The licence application will be approved within four working days after completion of the following:
Submission of all supporting documents listed in Step 1 and Step 2 via GoBusiness Dashboard.
Your payment of the licence fee.
Your exhibition premises successfully passing the inspection.
4. Sign the Letter of Undertaking.
After our acceptance of your application, you must sign and complete the following:
A Letter of Undertaking assuring us that you will comply with all exhibition conditions.
Notes to applicant:
A non-refundable application fee* of S$94.50 (inclusive GST) and licence fee of $126.00 is payable upon application.
Acceptance of your application does not guarantee final approval.
Animals should not be exhibited until the licence is issued.
* Application fee is payable for permanent exhibitions and exhibitions lasting 14 days or more.
