How to apply for an animal exhibition licence

You can apply for the animal exhibition licence online through GoBusiness Dashboard (opens in new tab).  Application for temporary animal exhibition licences must be submitted at least 2 weeks before the start date of the exhibition. 

Before applying, please read the animal exhibition licence conditions and information. You should ensure that your proposed exhibition, animal display area, animal management arrangements, and exhibition program can meet these conditions

Below are the steps you can follow to obtain the licence for animal exhibitions.

1. Submit documents from relevant authorities.

The following documents must be submitted to us:

  1. Approval letter or tenancy agreement from landlord/management of exhibition venue.

  2. (For permanent exhibitions only) Written approval from relevant authorities such as the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), or Singapore Land Authority (SLA).

2. Prepare and submit your exhibition plan and information.

You will need to provide information and supporting documents about your proposed animal exhibition when applying through GoBusiness Dashboard (opens in new tab):

1.      Approvals from Step 1

2.      A copy of your NRIC (front and back)

3.      Your Medisave Payable statement* (for permanent animal exhibitions)

4.      ACRA bio-data printout of entity (for permanent animal exhibitions)

5.      An exhibition plan detailing the activities involving the display of animals.

The exhibition plan should provide AVS with a clear understanding of the animals involved in the exhibition, where and how the animals will be displayed and housed, how the animals will be managed and cared for, and the activities involving the animals during the exhibition. * Self-employed persons are required to contribute to their CPF MediSave Account, to ensure they have sufficient savings for their healthcare needs. Your licence application/renewal may be delayed unless you are up-to-date with your MediSave contributions – either paid in full or have an active GIRO arrangement with CPF Board. 3. Undergo AVS inspection.

AVS will arrange for an inspection of the exhibition premises as part of the licensing process.

4. Sign the Letter of Undertaking.

The licence application will be approved within four working days after completion of all of the following:

  1. Submission of all supporting documents listed in Step 1 and Step 2 via GoBusiness Dashboard. (opens in new tab)

  2. Your payment of the fee(s).

  3. Your exhibition premises successfully passing the inspection.

  4. You must sign a Letter of Undertaking assuring us that you will comply with all exhibition conditions.

Notes to applicant:

  • A non-refundable application fee* of S$94.50 (inclusive GST) and licence fee of $126.00 are payable upon application. 

  • Acceptance of your application does not guarantee final approval.

  • Animals should not be exhibited until the licence is issued.

* Application fee is payable for permanent exhibitions and exhibitions lasting 14 days or more.
