General information
The import, export and transshipment of pets involve fulfilling strict requirements and complying with necessary procedures.
Importing refers to the act of bringing an animal into Singapore from another country.
Exporting refers to the act of bringing an animal from Singapore into another country.
Transshipment refers to the act of transiting Singapore for less than 24 hours during the journey between countries.
If you plan to travel with your pet to another country for a short period of time (e.g. a vacation), please be informed that all exports are to comply with the importing country’s requirements. Please check with the competent authority in your country of destination on their specific requirements, including the requirement of a veterinary health certificate before exporting your pet from Singapore. For return to Singapore, your pet will be required to meet all our import requirements Please refer to more details on the import requirements here.
AVS Recognised Pet Agents
All applications for the import and export of personal pets (e.g. dog, cat, small mammals, ornamental bird) in Singapore must be applied for, by the pet owner or through an AVS recognised pet agent.
