You won't want to miss Cats' Day Out 2026 — a fun family event for cat lovers and owners. This event celebrates the progress of the Cat Management Framework (CMF) and community & veterinary partners who have been supporting AVS’ initiative through the Pet Cat Sterilisation Support programme.
Bring your family, friends, and even your cats for a day to explore interactive game stations, pick up useful tips on cat care, and find out if you have truly checked all the CMF requirements. Whether you are a cat owner or thinking about adopting, this is a good starting place to learn more about cat caregiving and cat ownership.

1. AVS’ Centre for Animal Rehabilitation: What we do by Dr Natasha Weers
Dr Natasha Weers, Veterinarian at AVS, shares how the Centre for Animal Rehabilitation (CAR) supports companion animal welfare by providing first-response and shelter care for lost pets, community animals, and animals from welfare investigation cases. Learn how the Centre drives better outcomes through reunification of lost pets, the Trap-Neuter-Release/Rehome-Manage (TNRM) programme, and partnerships with Animal Group Partners to rehome animals in need.
This is a great chance to learn more about CAR’s work, understand more about support for animal welfare, and find out how we can help create a safer environment for all companion animals.
2. Basic Cat Care by Dr Petrina Teo
Despite their reputation for independence, cats rely vitally on their owners to care for them across all aspects of their well-being. Dr Petrina Teo, Senior Veterinarian at AVS, will cover the essentials of responsible cat ownership — from ensuring good nutrition and health, to grooming needs and creating an enriching home environment. Whether you're a first-time cat owner or looking to brush up on your knowledge, this talk will help provide a better understanding of what it takes to keep your feline companion happy and healthy.
